29th August 2026 Windsurfing: The Manor at Felixsrtowe Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 15/20 Surf / Sea State: Quite big! Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Mainly cloudy Max Speed: 19.11 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 26 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise) Saturday 29th August – Windsurf **** The Manor at Felixstowe – mainly cloudy but with some sunshine before the heavy rain arrived! Foil – 19.11 knot max, 17.98 knot ave., 13.04 knot hour, 16.19 knot mile, 42.22 km.,14.14 knot alpha. Starboard Freeride 150 and a Tushingham Bolt 5.75m. I had a quick out at 6.30 to take a few weather pics, ending up at the Cliff top car park but then I could not send them in as my laptop would not start! I was keen to get out on the water today but it was a dodgy forecast, starting SW then turning S and increasing with rain in the middle of the day so I decided to head out early as the wind was there. So after messaging Al Wizz I headed down to Squiz Lane at The Manor end here in Felixstowe parking in prime spot at 8.30 with a good breeze from the SW. So once again I rigged what is fast becoming my favourite sail, the Tushingham Bolt 5.75m :) which proved ideal, I certainly did not need anyone! I was a little nervous at times knowing the wind was due to build but if anything it eased a fraction during the session. I did my usual long runs out to sea where it was a lot rougher so I had some fun in front of the Martello doing some short runs having fun gybing which went well today. I was out for nearly two hours covering 26 miles, I even had a few runs in with the sun out and I was later joined on the water by Al Wizz out on his 115 lt. boarder with 6.5! I decided to call it a day just as the first drops of rain arrived but I managed to get home before a spell of heavy rain arrived, my wife, Mag the gardener was chuffed as her water butts are overflowing! Wind for a couple for more days now and we are having a bonus evening with the lovely Maeva tonight! Photo Album here |
